Need to change the battery on wifes 307, but how do you remove the cover for the battery?
I can get at battery connections and remove cables but struggling to remove the black plastic cover which sits over the battery (without losing the skin on my knuckles).
Thanks

i take it its a diesel? if so you have to remove the air filter box first. if its a 100bhp theres a water rad inside it but dont undo the pipes just lift the filter box out and lay it to the side

Dont forget the battery disconnection and reconnection procedure or you may crash the BSI.

Frank
Thanks for response but car is a 52 plate 307 Rapier 1.6 petrol.
Can you also elaborate on your point regarding the correct procedure for disconnecting the battery
Thanks

you will still have to remove the airbox, then get hold of the front bottom edge of the battery cover and unclip it from the tray. the procedure is to open the bonnet and remove the keys from the car, leave it for 10mins with out touching the car, ie dont open close doors switch on lights ect, just leave it alone!!!!! then replace the battery, reconect battery and lock the car with the plip then unlock switch on the ignition.
