Initially i was planning to put an XUD into my 305 to keep it standard and as original as possible, but given the effort put into the bodywork id rather have an engine to match the looks of the car, a D Turbo was considered but the DW10 is a much smoother engine, and easier to start on a cold morning.
What would be the best donor car to get a DW10 engine from, the 406 has a 110 and a 90, with the 90 having no dual mass flywheel to worry about, but the 110 has the plumbing for an intercooler already there. The 306 has a lot less wiring to deal with than a 406 but was there a 110 version? Ive also seen a few Citroen Xsaras with the HDi 110 but did they get a dual mass flywheel, and bosch fuel injection?
Are there any other donor cars worth looking out for?
