I shall be very grateful for any help in finding me the special tool kit for adjusting the fuel mixture of the Kugel Fischer injection engine (KF2 or higher) - part no 8.0112. It came in a small box with 2 pressure guages, a temperature guage and a few tools. My e-mail address is: abey(at)heathfield(dot)org(dot)uk and I am London based.

Hi Roy
Welcome to the forum, and back to CPUK. I know Stuart's 504Ti had work done to both the fuel pump and height corrector, I think by Nottingham Diesels ? I can check if need be, I recall him saying he had to send both the KF pump and corrector when it needed to be fixed, and the calibrated it all as well.
You sometimes see special Peugeot tools for sale on ebay.com , as many old Peugeot dealers in the USA have clearouts.
Mat

Thanks Mat. Can I please have the phone no. for Nottingham Diesel. I am however looking to buy the tool kit as I would like to do the final tuning myself, and indeed help any other 404 inj car owner who might like to have this done. Cheers Roy

Hello Mat & Stuart, I contacted Nottingham Diesel and had a long and very interesting chat with the owner who recalled doing Stuart's car. Unfortunately he has only the one kit and isn't parting with it, but he went to great lengths to give me the details of adjusting the mixture without using the kit, and advised me not to worry about fuel pressures, which he reckons is only necessary for applying factory settings on a new engine, ie without any wear. He says that with older engines he simply goes by emission test, and adjusting the mixture appropriately. Makes sense. He is undoubtedly very knowledgeable and competent on Kugel Fischer injections and what's more, has a good stock of spares, - a very rare resource for 404 and 504 injection owners. Worryingly he said that demand for KF work is low and it made me wonder how that bodes for us KF owners in the UK. Any ideas??? Thanks again for the introduction.

I can only recall the other thing being KF was the BMW 2002 not up on them. I guess the UK demand is low, after all the KF models were sold new at a premium of several hundred pounds when new - let alone 30 odd years later. I would suspect quite a few KF ended up as double webber carbs or so at some point? I'm glad Nottingham could advise, and the forum is prooving its worth!! Mat.
