Anyone ever had any parts rechromed?
I need my door handles done, and would appreciate advice on where to send them, how I should prepare them etc..
Thanks in advance, Mike.

Firstly, don't go on price alone!!!!!
There's cheap jobs and there's good jobs, see if there's anything in any of the classic car mag's or on their websites.
The only preparation you should need to do is to break down each item into it's individual parts otherwise you'll pay for someone dismantling the bits n' bobs. There'll be nowt else for you to do at home because all of the prep. work will be done by metalworker - most of it's done by leaving parts in baths of strippers/conditioners etc.

Thanks chug,
The question I should have asked was:
Has anyone here had rechroming done, and can they recommend anyone?
Did you get value for money?
Mike.

Mike, are you planning on going to the NEC? perhaps an ideal opportunity to inspect and decide on a supplier. Mat.

Be sure to take a camera then and explore the island for old Peugeot's I came across 504 and 404 on Gran Canaria earlier in the year. I can reconmend www.recordrentacar.com/home.asp?lang=EN as you can rent a Peugeot Partner diesel for about £100 a week all in. Mat.
