So what are you meant to do with a 3 and a half year old Peugeot... that the dealers can't fix (still waiting a definitive answer on this one - due next week but its been 13 weeks)?
And won't run once the engine gets warm.

short journies? Might just work... Though last time I did this, I barely made the garage where its been living for the past couple of months... so short journey for me would be to the second round about and back! Could be a new tourist route! contact watchdog. Might just work... Not sure who to complain about... probably have to be Peugeut UK/France. Can't blame the dealers for not having a clue - I can blame them for being inept and incommunicative. Interestingly the dealer who I bought the car off have now stopped selling Peugeots and moved on to Nissans!

Did it first start within the 3 year guarantee, and if so do you have it documented e.g. service bill/printout? if the then trott along to trading standards....

Nope it started after the 3 year guaruntee expired... about 2 months outside of it.... though they claimed that it was the EGR valve that had gone and changed it and it worked for about a month... broke down then worked fine for about another month... that's when it started getting silly, and broke down every week, on the same day at the same point in the same journey! On the last day I drove the car it broke down 7 times in two hours of driving...

Perhaps the local newspaper, if its anything like the Bournemouth Echo we have they'll turn out some old tosh in your favour to show how dim the dealer is.
