the 604 looks great if you are at least 10ft away. get any closer and you start to see some problems.... still, it goes well and is road legal, which isn't bad for a 30 year old 604 last week the electric windows packed up, but there seems to be no power to the system at all so it should be an easy fix

HUzzah for the 604. Get those alloys on it. They make a 604 look extra classy!

Little update with my upgraded dashboard. Installed larger instrument panel of 82-83 models; much much nicer than original one. Car now enjoying French climate again...

Hi to all. My name is matt and i live on the sheffield/rotherham border, Im new to the forum but im a true old school petrol head. I have just embarked on a mild restoration of a genuine talbot samba rallye (1.2) that was preped to gr-N spec but stood for a fair few years. Anyway im not one usually for small cars but i have been bitten by the bug as this car has a ridiculous attitude - small but unbelievably quick and loud ( The quick and loud bit i usually have in abundance as both my quattros know how to dole that out) but the samba is a wolf in sheeps clothing, so im looking forwards to getting her preped so i can use her before winter sets in. I hope there are a few samba owners on here as i have a fair amount of questions that are needing answers. the current fleet. cheers matt

welcome on board. The Samba is as cool as. There are a couple of Samba owners on here. I've had a Rallye in the past but I've got a 104 ZS now. Mechanically the same so ask away. I'm happy to help. My ZS is halfway between group A and B spec. The 8 port head and twin 40's make a biiig difference I can tell you. More pics anytime.

My rally has apparantly been modded to a 6 port head and single -twin 40 carb, something to do with regs a while ago when it was campaigned at clubman level but as soon as its had some tlc in the paint dept and a service i will be taking her upto l.a.d. motorsport who where one of her former owners in the past so they can cast an eye over her and get her set up on the rolling road.
I will be keeping a photographic record of her resto so will have plenty of news and pics to post.
Has anyone else posted any samba/104 images of late?

yes l.a.d. are the boyz for Samba's. I think they are resto'ing one of there old cars at the moment. About time there was a bit of love for the Samba. It was an awesome car in it's day and s still pretty popular in France as a clubman car. All knowledge about Samba's is here (in French): 104samba.free.fr/forum/
