I need to get hold of some shims for our TUD5-engined 106 (4.15, 4.175, and 4.20mm) Are they obtainable from anywhere except Peugeot themselves ? How much can I expect to pay ?

Just an update. Those three shims from Peugeot would have taken 3 days to order in and cost nearly £25. I opted to get an engineer mate to skim the existing ones down. I had the car running again inside 24hrs. Peugeot wanted ~£338 inc. VAT to do this job  . It transpired that this was not the main cause of our poor running problems either. The car is going better than ever now though (I can recommend a good diesel engine specialist if anyone is interested). |
