i can't figure out the wing mirrors it looks like it has the 504 saloon type mirrors which I thought only the very first 604s had mine was registered August 1976 and it had the chunkier 504 coupe style mirror only on the drivers side ( I added a passenger one too ) still, it's an R reg like mine which makes it August 76 to July 77 I wonder which car has the "correct" mirrors? I think it was 79 that they went to the black plastic mirrors which spoil the looks a bit in my opinion I'm glad it's newer than mine, with so few left I might one day have the oldest one on the road

The chrome "Rolls Royce" type chunkier mirrors (with joystick-type internal control, similar to those fitted to 504cc after 77) were only available on Ti versions on the 78 model. Black plastic mirrors from 79 models.
Mirrors on this one aren't original at all.

another thing.... loads of original pictures show 604s with clear indicators, but I've never seen one in real life as they all seem to have amber indicators. was it only the LHD ones that had clear indicators or something?

Yes, the French hate the Brits, so we sell them less valuable cars! Ok, I'm out of here... No idea, but I'll check!

Auction ended early (seller pulled it) with no bids. It appears 604s are rare(ish) yet worthless I think I paid too much for mine

It appears 604s are rare(ish) yet worthless I think I paid too much for mine Rare and worthless? yes most definitely in the UK. Too big, too unknown, too prone to rust, too thirsty. Even in France, they only attract a handful of enthusiasts. I wouldn't mind a late STi or GTi myself, but I've got to have a 504cab first, then find a bigger house with a bigger garage and then divorce! Don't think about how much you paid for yours as long as you're happy with it! But if you paid more than a pound for yours... Do you know of the International 604 club? Web site is on club604.free.fr They have a forum ( club604.free.fr/phpBB2/index.php ) where you can discuss in English with fellow 604 owners and they seem pretty welcoming to anyone.

Have you had enough of me posting here? :-)
I haven't joined the club because of the 50 Euro joining fee, given that I'm unlikely to meet any of them. I didn't realise that they have a forum. I wonder if it's open to non members.

Yes, it's open to non-members, you just need to create an account to post messages. Similar to here, same interface as well...

"La réponse pour la confirmation écrite est fausse" = incorrect reply for written confirmation.
Look like what you enter does not match the info you provided. Typo? Upper case? ...
