£1200 seems excessively cheap for a v6 504 coupe!!! Just goes to show what a rubbish auction listing can do for to your sale. Car really doesn't look that bad, but as Herve will attest to us, I'm sure many a coupe can look pretty sound on top whilst being a total basket case underneath.
By the way christi I have the owner details for that v6 604 that's for sale. Owner wants £150 for it. Sounds like it would be worth that all day.

So V6 or not, 1980 or not? Well, I now know my 504CCs pretty well, so here goes: 1) V6 logo missing from boot panel but it's got the TRX steel wheels of the 78-80 V6Ti models and the dual-exit exhaust silencer of all V6 models. 2) Rolls-Royce chrome style door mirror of 78-83 models is missing and it has no rear seal belt (they appeared on 79 models), but it has the boot 'Peugeot' logo of 75-78 models, the steering wheel of 78-83 models and the door trim of 78-79 models (I know difficult to spot, still... ) So, my conclusion is that this is a 1978 V6Ti model (Sep77 - Jul78 manufacture). V-reg means this car was 1st registered after Aug 1st 1978, so the car is probably a late 78 model. Now, was it an "excessively" cheap purchase at £1200? Well, it's not dear by any means for a V6Ti but ... The add mentions over 217,000km, not a negligeable mileage even though Peugeot engines of these cars are bullet proof. But the car is not in pristine condition, so I'd have been very cautious with this car especially without pictures of the engine... Then the advert mentions drum brakes at the rear which is rather worrying because all 504CCs are disc brakes all the way, from launch in 69 till the end of production in 83. Either this car has been modified in quite a worrying way (why on earth would anyone replace disc brakes by drum brakes on a fairly powerful [144bhp] car?) or the seller is talking utter s h i t e (I'd tend to choose the latter, it goes with the rest of the ad) and he is mistakenly taking discs for drums (how anyone would do that, I don't know). Now to the overall aspect of the bodywork. It looks sort of Ok on the pictures but the seller was honest enough to show the fairly large bubbles at the bottom of one door and the many missing logos around which rust has started to work (wings, bonnet, boot). I also noticed rust on the rear steel bumper. Then there is the absolutely terrible sunroof. Dreadful add-on! I'd be interested to see what's underneath and at the edge of the seals... Did anybody notice the colour of the front lights? Looked a bit odd to me and I think the right one is letting water in. The ad stipulates that the exhaust backbox needs replaced because of corrosion. Tough! it's no longer available so it's a DIY or specialist job ( = £££££)... No pictures of the wheel arches, the underneath or the interior. A bargain? Hmm, don't think so. Restorable? Absolutely because it does not look that bad, but it's all the expensive and hard to find parts that need replacement/repair and it'll cost more to restore than find a good one in the 1st place. Looks like it was 1st registered in the UK in 1998 and somehow neglected since. So christi, don't be sad, a fair-to-good V6Ti costs £3-5k. This one will cost a lot more to look good. I think the seller's done really well, probably bought this car for a loaf of bread, never looked at it and simply put it on ebay after a quick Web search about 504 V6. The thing about rear drums and restoring the 504 for classic rallying just does not add-up to me.
