I like this post, alway good to hear how everyone ended up here...
I'm an Interior & Spatial Designer, specialising in commercial projects, ie hotels, student accomodation, and flash pads for developers in London.
I started out in the building trade, and first fell in love with 504's on a trip to France in about 1988. In 1990 I went to work in France restoring a farmhouse, and saw an unloved 304 Cabriolet sitting by the road.
I took out a loan, bought it for 2000ff, and spent two years working in the S of France to pay her off! However my French got reasonably good, and it helped me decide to get a degree.
I came back to the UK, and spent 4 years at college running up a huge loan, leaving my poor Pug laid up in a garage and later a private drive. Unfortunately life and finances took their toll, and after several more years of neglect, I reluctantly gave her to a more deserving home. She has been fully restored, again, and is a much loved car.
Finally after ten years in the business, and several interesting car adventures with VW Golfs & Corrados and a 1958 A35, I have finally returned to my true love, and found and restored a '72 504 Cabriolet. Hopefully I'll make it to a meet soon and you can all meet her. I am now running her in London as my everyday car, she's incredibly reliable and comfortable, and turns plenty of heads on the Kings Road!

I'm another bicycle person round here, though not trying to pull the "one over" I am really an engineer, specialising in bicycles. I'm not a technician, because definition of technician is "An expert in a technique" (pulling things out, cleaning or replacing), whereas the definition of an engineer is "One who is trained or professionally engaged in a branch of engineering." I.e. I repair things. Woo, go me!
