Face it, IF your going to a main dealer expect to bend over and be raped with charges, Main dealers are for people that have no idea about cars or the workings inside them OR for those that have bought brand new and have complaints any other reason is overpriced and is no better than any other independant garage of the same make, In some instances a hell of a lot worse and will almost certainly give the old, You need new disks and pads on that quote, just as you do most cheaper garages but they'll do it for less.

As for 1200 quid for a new clutch of course the book says that LOL

that's my point, I was expecting to be ripped off with the key, because you can't get then done anywhere else, and you can't do it yourself, but no, they didn't rip me off

the clutch on the other hand can be done anywhere, in fact I did it myself. I think that they didn't want that job, having done it myself I could see why

LOL yeah very true, they like the nice easy jobs that are simple and straight forward, so when they quote a price they know d**n welll it can be done in that time priced up. Congrats on doing it yourself though, thats no easy feet, I don't think i would dare take on the challenge.
