Got some cash coming my way in April, an I'm finally gonna get me a 309. I'll be just as happy with a small engined bread-and-butter trim job as a fast one - just want it as a toy.
Time now to start researching and learning about the model.
Can you fellers advise me of any common problem areas to be alert for, and are their and useful books or online resources out there?
Cheers,
Rich

Faulty/worn seals on the rear lights allow water in which accumulates in the passenger footwell. Similar with blocked or corroded drain tubes for the sunroof where fitted. On high milage models look for worn rear axle trailing arm bearings making the wheels look skew.

the pivot points of the rear suspension arms seized up on my sister's one, just like they do on 205s. A 309 is basically a stretched 205 so the things to check will mostly be the same

rot, boot floors, under the back seat above the fuel tank, inner wings, inside the door shuts, front panel behind the headlights. suspension, check the rear beam isnt seized. or the the radius arm bearings havnt collapsed. anything else is easily replacable.

Ha ha! Yeah, I'd love a Woody, but being realistic about parts/trim supply for some of the rare models, and insurance costs etc, I'll be just as happy with a 1.3 Grannymobile.
