I have just purchased a 1999 XSI which has central locking which is controlled via the key turning in the lock.
Is there an option which enables it to be upgraded to have a button operated central locking key or would it just be easier to buy a kit on ebay for say?

If its a 1999 model (phase 3?) 306 XSI then it should come with 3 keys, 1 plane key and 2 with remotes. What puzzles me is why its working with just the one key that doesnt have the transponder (remote with buttons), so im either thinking that the original system has been removed? or the immobiliser has been bypassed. The handbook will also tell you how to reprogramme the keyfob (its very easy), though could you confirm if the car has an aftermarket security system fitted?
