I would have thought that the 604 would tick a few boxes
big enough to get a family in modern levels of comfort with electric windows, power steering, huge electric sunroof quite clean lines getting very, very rare
I like being able to go to a show and be the only person with one there (unless Giles turns up in his LHD, but that's cheating)
The biggest problem is sorting rust, but then my friend Pete has a totally rust free one and simply cannot sell it, even for only £1000. It's completely road legal and looks nice in burgundy and yet no one want it except banger racers.
why?
I know it's a bit juicy with fuel but people buy yank stuff and Range Rovers. If you don't drive far it's not an issue and if you do it would be dead easy to put it on LPG, or even throw a 505 turbo diesel engine in there.

so the 604 is actually so uninteresting that
a: no one wants to buy one b: no one can even be bothered to think about why they don't want one

oh no... The 604 is a great car, its just that there have never been that many around and most sold to businesses or for official use. Very few were bought as private cars, therefore nobody has a relationship with the 604 and wants one these days. Its a nice car, excellent for long distance drives and the kids will love it. Unfortunately there is no more room in the garage, i don't have endless money in my pockets and my Talbot Tagora is the better 604 anyway ;D Peter my cars: 1981 Talbot Tagora GLS 1978 504 GL 1977 504 V6 www.504cc.dewww.altefranzosen.de
