I have just bought the 205 gti 1.9, well i thought i did!!!

I think it maybe the 1.6 with 1.9 engine can anyone confirm?

Firstly the logbog says 1.9

but it has drum rear brakes and the fron brakes look like the 1.6 calipers and i was reading the suspension is harder on the 1.6 and the suspension is very hard on this with standard setup.

Can anyone confirm definitively???



also will the 1.9 calipers fit straight on if it is a 1.6??

Sounds like a right old "Ringer"? see if the details on the ally chassis plate,number on the body shell by the bulk head,and the registration document all match up? what ever it is its got bits of both and not a nice car.If the previous owner advertised it as a proper 1.9 GTI he is in the wrong,take it back and ask for your money back,you have been done.
