Hello all,
New around here and thought that I'd register and pop over to this section with a query!
As stated in subject header, having bought a 2nd hand Peugeot 307 many months ago, it occured to me instantly that the fuel level indicator displayed on the dashboard reports back as "Empty" with the flashing little red dot of (doom) light. Have been almost doomed 3 times in the middle of the road with the car slowly halting to a stop as the petrol tank emptied (rushing or hailing to a taxi to the nearest petrol station, grab a short tank, and back before the battery dies out for further troubles) , even though remembering to top it up each time I head out until I realised I have done longer journeys.
Checked with the garage guys, got told that something broken or knackered in the fuel tank part that reads the petrol level. So I was told that it was something similiar to a ballthingy in a toilet that measures how filled up the tank is, or so I remember what they said. Been many months hearing from the garage guys trying to order a part but never did so far, guessing it be just as expensive ordering direct from the manufacture for the part too?
I am wondering what is the part called thats causing this miserable issue for me and what can be done.
Car as follows: Peugeot 307 Hatchback Year 2002 Petrol 1360cc
Any help/comments would be grateful!
