Hi All,
Taken a couple of minutes out from the sun, nocturnal activites and my Peugeot Partner rental to say hello.
Island isn´t really "old" Peugeot, lots of more modern although the likes of 205 and 309 are very thin on the ground here.
Went to the west of the island, where it would seem the cars are much older and saw an array of more classic including a 404 and 504, several 1970s Datsuns and mk1 Escort.
The Partner we have rented is a real basic one, 1.9 Diesel, not HDi, a slow little begger up the hills but very quiet indeed. The spec is only one rear opening door which I have not seen before, and central locking from just the key, no plip. Bit thisty on the derv too, but it only cost €20 to fill up!! Derv is around €0.59 here.
Right back to the sunshine, and a sleep before heading off to the Yumbo again!
Mat

Good luck with your holiday GLD. Id love some pics of any old cars you see (if possible) and whats the weather like - it seems the weather in the med has been unusual lately - don't know if its the global warming thing or not - that usually means more rain as far as I can make out. I remember from my 13 months spent working in Cyprus it had lovely old classics being used as daily drivers - but then that was back in 1994/95

Yesterday afternoon at about 430, the roadside meter was showing 29´c. and the Skoda taxi last night showed 22´c when we went out at about 10pm. Phew!!!
Not too many old cars to take pics of, did snap the 404, the 504 was in high speed in the other direction, and it always seems you have the local rally driver up your bum when you want to stop!

Well back, and its cold! I saw another 504 in Maspolomas, and managed to pull over to take a look. China blue 504GLD !!!! Had the plastic badges on the rear too, so must of been a 2.3D of post 1980 I would guess. Will hopefully post pics tomorrow once Boots have taken care of the disposable camera.
