Hi,
I wondered if anyone could give me some advice please ?
I have just been for a test drive in a 2005 807 Executive with 46k on the clock (Diesel - automatic).
Whilst I would prefer a manual, I could make do with the auto I guess.
But I have a few questions :
1. The log book specifies that it is an 8 seater BUT it most certainly isn't, it has two seats in the front, 3 in the middle and two individual seats in the back - Any ideas on this please ?
2. The drivers seat has the electric movement controls. The backrest angle works fine but the other control is marked for forward/reverse and up/down. forward/reverse are fine but up/down don't work (in fact the switch feels "loose" in the up down direction) - Is this a common issue ?
3. On test it felt sluggish and the steering felt "vague" and "floaty" but it might just be because I am used to my 04 Mondeo TDCI? Is this how they normally perform/feel ?
4. The car pulls to the left whilst driving BUT the shoulder of the passenger side tyre is very worn so I am suspecting tracking (steering wheel is off centre as well). However, an advisory on last years MOT (full VOSA print out with it) specifies ball-joint will need replacing on that side soon. Any ideas ?
5. Lastly, the stereo is a Clarion unit and is loose in the slot. Can I replace this with an upgraded unit that will support MP3 etc? Any ideas what will fit (and work with the in-dash display and steering wheel controls) ?
There is no service history with the vehicle (paperwork just isn't there) apart from some receipts including one from Peugeot for a full engine strip and rebuild with new injectors, new valves, new battery etc etc about 5k miles ago - no idea why it needed that though - total cost was over £1k.
Any comments or suggestions about other things to look for ? BTW - the car is priced at £4195 with a full 12 months MOT and 6 month (worthless) warranty plus oil and filter change and valet.
Sorry for all the questions but I know nothing about these vehicles apart from they look perfect for families
