Hello,
I have a query for you that hopefully someone will be able to help me with.
I have a 2008 Peugeot 207 and noticed recently that the rear nearside indicator was flashing double time on dashboard. This lead me to believe that the bulb had gone but the problem was intermittent & the bulb was working. It would flash double time then just return to normal. I did replace the bulb to be sure.
However, last night when checking all was OK with the lights when it was getting dusk I noticed nothing on the back of the car was working light wise even thought they were “on”. The indicators were not working unless I turned the hazards on, rear lights were totally off & also no lights when pressing the brake. The only thing that came on was the reverse light when gear engaged. Once again, this was intermittent and they came back on shortly after.
I took the nearside cluster off to check the connectors on the wire & on the cluster & all connections / pins look fine. No evidence of burning or melting. I’ve had the car to my local garage this morning & they have advised they can’t find any apparent fault – they have cleaned all the connectors & it seems to be working fine. My worry is that it seems to work fine the majority & then it just goes off. I’ve read that a common fault on the car is the earth wire corroding & / or overloading due to the strain on it. Does this seem like it could be the problem? Would a bad connection on 1 side cause all the lights to go off?
Ive also looked into resetting tie BSI in case this could be giving mis-information out.
Any advice appreciated!
Many thanks
Steven
