Hi all,
I've bought old P407 few months ago and now the engine speed goes up and down at higher gear. I think it will be problem with the clutch. Does someone have a diagnostics to actually see something more? I don't want to go to official service. I've made all the repairs with one guy from Peugeot Club in my home country.
Thank you so much! Marta

You wont get any information from a diagnostic tool about a clutch. Any competent mechanic will confirm that the clutch is worn and slipping by just driving the car. If it is slipping the gearbox will have to be removed and a new clutch assembly fitted. Also if your 407 has a duel mass flywheel it is normal practice to replace that at the same time. All this is very expensive, in the UK a clutch and DMF job is around £1000. So talk to your nice mechanic, get him to test the clutch and find out if your model has a DMF. Then decide if its worth doing?

I know that I will not get any info about the clutch, but I would like to have info about the rest, which can be also useful. The problem is that I am in UK for a long time now and I will probably have to find someone here who will test it.
