309 engine code KDY from 1993 fuel pump change

Hi
I have been asked to change the fuel pump and would like to know if the owner has got it right - that the fuel tank needs to be lowered?
I did find a photo here of a 309 pump - and that photo suggested there would be an inspection hole through the body.
If thats correct - do I find it under the rear seat or in the trunk.
It is a hatchback.

Owner found it under the rear seat =)
Problem most likely not the pump either - "engine runs ruff under load" - so propably its ignition related. He will be comming tomorrow.
