Good morning
Looking for some advice please.
Peugeot 205 Gentry auto. Genuine 82000 miles.
Starts immediately, runs smoothly, drives enjoyably.
Oil pressure on start-up is just less than centre of dashboard guage. After only about 10 miles as engine warms up drops back to less than one mark. Warning light not on. Conversely coolant temperature on guage rises rapidly over same journey time to just short of maximum. Oil temperature gauge barely off lowest reading.
Oil is new and at full mark on dipstick. Oil filter is new. Coolant is up to full. Cooling fan works.
Had mechanic check oil pressure with manual guage. Said OK: 35psi at idle, 50psi at 300rpm. but do not know whether this was with cold or hot engine. On the phone he cannot recall, and not convenient to go back to him.
If I'm lucky !! all three sensors: oil pressure, oil temp, water temp are faulty, but unlikely.
Lastly, smell of petrol inside car.
Appreciate any guidance.
Also I am in Staines-upon-Thames just south of Heathrow. Can anyone recommend a mechanic/garage that will take interest in a 205 as I haven't yet found anyone.
Thanks
