Peugeot 406 keys with transponder

:)hi there everyone.
We got our first peugeot about 1 1/2 ago now.
nice car but drinks petrol something rotten.
I was wondering does any one know where to get a new key with transponder from and how much will it cost? do not konw where to search on the web to get details for it.

HI, a new transponder key is pretty much a dealer only job as the car needs to be programed to recognise the new key but there are a few lock smiths about who will clone an exsisting key which is a much cheaper option!

thanks for that, my other halfs key is just about knackered now.
definately need to get a new one what ever happens
