Hi there.
I have a late 1999 Peugeot 406 2.0 HDI, wich i want to upgrade with a trip computer. Does anyone knows what is the wire that brings the signal from the ecu to the multifunction display. I've found the two wires on the wiper stalk, and now i can navigate throug the menus, but instead of numbers, it only displays dashes. I think the display must be configurated to support the trip computer, but it obviously needs the wire from the ecu (this was what they said in Peugeot dealer here in Portugal). Does anibody knows what is the wire, or so, where is it on the ecu (pin out).
Sorry for my english (or better, my bad english LOL)
Thanks for the help.

hi, if it's a late type 406 the trip computer needs to be activated in the BSI ( sort of central computer ) I'm afraid it's a dealer only job. Depending on spec. it might still not work. Regards andy

That's right andy. It needs to be activated. But it will only work if the wire is there (this was what the dealer says). Do you know wich one is the one? Thanks

on face lift 406 it just depends on whether the control unit supports the trip computer as an option, as far i know the wiring is all the same.

i have already thought that. In the same wires there could be various signals (multiplex). But why the hell the dealer said that it needs "the wire" from main ecu? I didn't understand. Got go there and... we will see.
Thanks for the help
