Bought a 2nd hand plip from Ebay for my 1997 Series 2 306 turbo diesel (57K miles) - arrived this morning. Programmed the car receiver as per info found on the web & new plip locked/unlocked doors ok. Took a run along to the bank, about 2 miles away, and when I came back to it, the car wouldn't start.
Starter turning engine ok, fuel definitely getting to the inlet of the fuel pump. Slackened a pipe between the fuel pump & injector, turned engine over and no diesel coming out. Turned ignition on & off and there's a definite click coming from the fuel cut-off solenoid on the pump.
Does it sound like the pump is knackered or is there some kind of immobiliser built into the pump that could be playing up thanks to me changing the remote plip? (I'm thinking that it's a big coincidence)
Any help/suggestions really appreciated as this is my first ever diesel (bought 2nd hand last month) & I'm only thinking of immobiliser ideas (don't even know if my car has one! - certainly not found an alarm) after reading some ino on the web.

If your car does not have a Keypad to type a code into to start, it will have immobiliser built in to key. you have two choices. You can take the key appart and swap the chip out of your old key. or take it to a peugeot dealer to be coded in, you will need transponder code for this, if you dont have it your peugeot dealer can get it for you, it costs about £20.
