Can anyone shed a little light on which engine the LDV pilot uses, ,its a P reg 1.9 diesel mine has all but give up the ghost, for the past 2 years I have used the van for everyday transport and frequent surf trips to the west coast of the UK and the south west of France. Its OK for round the town use but struggles with the trips especially when loaded up.I need to replace the motor and a Peugeot turbo diesel would be ideal, But which one? I have tried LDV and Peugeot but no help at all there, any one have any ideas ? thanks final.

There are 5 types of Peugeot diesel, XD which are the old Indenor engines, XUD the most common from 1984 onwards to around 1998. TUD used in 106/AX/Metro , DW non turbo and HDi units which are the current ones.
as for identifying yours - does it have a cambelt? if so its XUD if not its XD. Can you take a photo of it?

You need to host it on a server, either your own webspace or free services like Photobucket. Alternatively if you want to upload directly to the gallery on the main site, under misc I can post the engine pictures there if they are Peugeot!
