Hi
I have a 406 2.0 HDi
Ive notice the dipstick keeps rising by about 3/4 ".
What i mean is i push it right down and next time i check its popeed up, as if there is pressure pushing it.
Should I be concerned about this and any ideas what it may be?
Other than that the car runs fine.
Cheers Gav

Is there anything stuck in it that could be pushing it back up? Open the bonnet and start the car and see how long it takes to pop up.

Are the engine covers tight, not vibrating up and down taking the dip with it?

Are the engine covers tight, not vibrating up and down taking the dip with it? Ah, you might have a point... There is a big black plastic engine cover that just seems to sit on 4 pointed studs, should this lock down or should the studs have locking caps or something? (I just got the car last week Cheers Gav

loose engine cover. Common fault but how does it fit in place? does it literally just sit on the 4 pointy studs?

There are clips, and these break. Pop to your dealer, no doubt they will have them in stock.
