hi am fairley new to the board and was woundering if anyone can help me . i am fitting some new tailgate strutts to my 405 and wanted to know if its a easy job or not if anyone out there can help me i will be so happy. many thanks steve60

if it is any thing like those on my 205 ( and i guess the design is basically the same) then it is a very eay job, the struts have sprung circlips that hold them onto the mounts at each end, that have to be forced off with a screwdriver, although take care not to scratch the window/heated elements with it. it is best to do one strut at a time, and essential to take a useful friend or broomhandle etc to prop the lid open when there is only one strut. ifound it helpful to slightly prop the circlips on the new struts out whilstplacing the struts in place, as it was then easier to fit them in place and just push the circlips on.
