CD Problem

Just bought a 2000 hdi Executive mint condition with 41000 miles , turned radio on selected CD, display said something about search. Checked cd magazine no cd,s so i filled magazine up selected CD again but this time nothing at all on display and still no sound. CD,s are running through the check ie; tracking each 1 but still nothing
Any ideas
Am i doing something wrong
Advice would be gratefully received

I know this sounds silly but... have you tried the CD's in the other way up?

Yep tried them both ways i know its something really simple as it was working perfectly when i bought it from my mate

Try checking the lead between the stereo unit and the CD changer. The lead may just have loosened, especially at CD end.
