I've been able to source from the Department of Transport data for all licienced Peugeot's as at end of the year (04). There are in excess of 2.1 million! Further more I have it broken down to exact models e.g. 205 GRD. We plan to use the data to build a series of articles for the club magazine. It is interesting to see that there are entries like "504 GL Auto" and "504GL Auto" which are maintained as two models becuase of the space! There is going to be some "thats not right" responces to the data, as personally I cannot see any 205T16 but there are multiple models just classed 205, which I can only assume at this point are imports. There are also nearly 3000 models just registered as "Peugeot", and with the absence of the pre-war models on the breakdown, I assume this soaks all these up, and many of the older mopeds which are included.
So to get it going :
Who are the owners of the only 2, 205 GTI Auto Cabrios?
And where are the excess of over 100, 106 Electrics ?

"504 CABRIOLET" is showing up but not coupe, as I guess thats a body style not a model in the eyes of a registration document. How does a coupe show on the V5C?
Can anybody shed some light on what a "504 E" is?

Well, mine is registered as a Coupé as far as I know (I don't have the V5 in front of me...), but maybe the Peugeot model type shows on your list: B02 (Cab), C02 (Cpé): 1.8l manual, 69-70 B12, C12: 2.0l manual, 71-74 and 78-83 B14, C14: 2.0l auto, 71-74 and 78-83 B31, C31: V6 carb manual, 75-77 C32: V6 inj manual, 78-83 C33: V6 carb auto, 75-77

No the list is not that comprehensive I'm afraid, and the very old models are just called "undefined". I will be digesting the contents for a series of magazine features, so watch your doormat.

I've found another 106 electric, its at the Atwell motor museum in Calne, after being donated to them by Peugeot. They also have a Partner electrical donated at the same time, both were prototypes. I am organising a Club event for next year there with luck, and Atwell will have both running for us to see in detail in their grounds. This should also hopefully link up with the Simca club at the museum at the same time. Mat

The fact Peugeot has had to given them away says it all! It appears that I've accidentally joined the Battery Vehicle Society - AAAAARRRGGGGHHHH
On a serious note, do the DVLA give details of ownership for a club to contact potential members or just no.s of each model?

No is the answer, the Data Protection Act and all that jazz. Going back to 106 electric, they were very hard to get hold off. I first saw one at the Geneva Motor Show years ago (same time the Cit Pluriel was previewd). Despite being an offical Peugeot model you as joe public couldnt buy one. It had to be a registered business, and you had to rent the battery from Peugeot at something like a £100 a month. Citroen on the otherhand never brought the AX electric across to the UK, but they did their Berlingo van, which anybody could buy! Work out that PSA plan .......
If you do want to own a Peugeot electric you could pick up a Peugeot Scoot Electric for about £1500 I think.
