Have you considered going Dangel style with it? Don't know if you've seen pictures but a French company called Dangel currently converts Peugeot Partner and Boxer in to 4 wheel drive. Their previous conversions have been 504 pickup, 504 estate, and 505 estate - all with beefy big suspension and wheel. The 504 pickup 4x4 looks the business sitting high up, big wheels, bull bars and surf board!

Ah this is the pickup in Portsmouth. I bid on this for the engine and tranny, although it did look reasonally sound, maybe the inner wings need some work? Keep us informed!

Picking it up next weekend. Theres a bit of crustiness on the back ends of the sills but I’m feeling quite optimistic about it overall. Also, I see brand new wings are only 30 notes each, tempted to buy a pair just to tart it up a bit.
Someone has suggested to me that these pick-ups are equipped with an LSD, is that true or just an urban myth? Not that I’m planning to do any drift events with it like.

Oh dear not another one!that bit of crustiness can only get worse as you look into it,mine has.Have a good look around the rear spring hangers and chassis crossmembers these seem to get the rust, and the bulkhead, and the sills, and the bit under the ladder rack .the list is endless.Still mine is growing on me i think it looks cool ;D Your right about the lsd mine has one,i know as its up on stands and if you turn one hub the opposite one turns the same way, should be fun in the snow!

They have b**ger all grip though, by cousin had one on his farm, and on frosty mornings in the field he would stop, move the electric fence and go to pull away and nothing.. He would get out leaving the truck in 1st gear and have to push it, then as it moved away run after it and jump back in!!! That was just on frosty grass......

That's just tyres! When I had road tyres on my Landrover it was rubbish on grass too. Wet or frozen grass is one of the slipperyest surfaces going.

No this was with nobbly tyres not road ones. There is hardly any weight on the rear, its terrible off road, hence the popularity of the Dangel in France.

I bet they'd be OK with a few sandbags over the back axle.

I saw a 504 Dangel pickup when zooming around the moutains in a C3 a couple of years ago when in St. Tropez. They are quite a beasty :-)
