Posting this for someone else, could you tell me what this problem relates to... what the cost maybe to get fixed and is it serious?

you would have to take it to somone with a fault code scanner. only then can you work out what it will cost. most places will do this for about an hours labour.

As many owners have previously found this is a bit of a generic Peugeot fault code meaning "something is wrong with your car somewhere." Lets's hope the dealership can pinpoint it. Several forum members have rather long, and ongoing, dramas with anti pollution faults.

I've found that the fault is usually caused by one of three things.
1- The particle filter is partially blocked 2- One of the particle filter pressure sensors are faulty 3- One of the particle filter pressure sensor pipes has a build up of condensation resulting in a blockage
That's not to say that this is your problem. Better to get it checked.

esp/asr is brake related so ill be fascinated if its got anything to do with the particle filter or sensors. should say its either one of the wheel sensors or a wire chaffed though somwhere. you will have to get a fault code reading to determine what it is.

That's right, ESP is a brake related issue. But I have had HDI anti pollution problems that relate to the particle filter or sensors on many occasions and one quirky problem with a 307 HDI that flagged up simultaneous anti pollution and ESP faults on the multi function display. A check with the Diag2000 showed no ESP faults recorded but a particle filter pressure differential problem. Renewing the pressure sensor stopped either fault being displayed. Apparently under certain conditions the data bus can become corrupt and produce this kind of problem (so Peugeot say) as in my 307's case the cause was engine and not brake related. However, we all see different cars with different faults and you may well be right in saying the fault is a wheel sensor or wire if the fault does in fact source from the brake system, Frank. Cheers.

do you have your own diag2000 autosolutions? yes your right on hdi's an antipolution fault is generally the particle filter. ive worked for peugeot since i left school and have never seen a fault with the particle filter with a mesage saying abs esp. but you never know, peugeot do weired and wonderful things.

Have an 02 307 hdi which like many others has the anti pollution fault. First defect noticed was an unblock diesel filter message this cleared but then the anti pollution fault appeared. Peugeot dealer diagnosed that the diesel system needed additive putting in it , then the system flushing through, after that if the message was still there then the particle filter would need changing. All for the sum of £400. Any one else come across this ? My thoughts would have been to go for the filter first.

yes i have the problem is if you change the filter and the problem is still there!!! you have to try the cheaper option first.
