My first Peugeot, my first diesel.....Help !

Hi all, I have just bough a "J" reg, peogeot 205 XLD, bright red and shiny.
It is my first diesel car and I have a minor problem, it won't turn off. I turn the key to off and can even remove it from the ignition but the engine keeps on running, it even revs when you dip thr accelorator. I have to "stall" the car everytime I want to stop.
Anyone had the same or similar experience ?
I could sure do with some advice.

To stop a Diesel you cant just turn of the ignition, you have to stop the fuel supply. Ther is a fuel cut off solenoid I believe on the fuel pump, it must be faulty or the wiring to it or perhaps the ignition switch. I would get a Haynes book and find out were it is and start from there, or find a nice cheep garage.
