electric window - whirring but no movement!

I seam to remember a bang when I closed the window on Friday night. Come Saturday morning the motor whirrs but there is no movement! I am suspecting that there is something wrong with the cable mechanism. So:
1) Does anyone have any info on the window mechanism?
2) How do I extract the motor and cables (I can unbolt the complete unit, but cant undo the cables)

I bet its a sealed unit, best get a haynes book.

1) If its sealed unit, there must be a way to disconnect the cables?? which would be a suitable solution if I can get a replacement motor and winding gear.
2) They dont do manual for the 605 do they? Is the citreon xm electrics similar enough for me to go buy one of them?

I have just checked the haynes web site and no they dont do a 605 manual.

I'm not sure about it being similar to an XM, your best bet would be to go to a librarie and see if they have a citroen book and check befor you buy one. Or you could have a chat with someone at your peugeot garage.
