hello everyone basically out the blue when i start the engine pull away then brake there a rumbling / grinding noise through the wheel and break pedal, this lasts approx 200yds of breaqking then the ABS warning comes up and the light stays on the dash, after that the breaking feels normal? but the light still on. ive just had it back from a garage (break / exaust specialist) i needed new discs and pads on the front and they changed the abs sensor near side as thats where the grinding coming from, they also changed the bearing. after all this its still the same, they said to me they couldnt scan it as there computer would not connect to the car? any ideas is this a common problam? i intend to try a peugeot specialist (non dealer) after easter break. any advice greatly received kind regards the md

Sounds to me you should have gone to a Peugeot Indy in the first place.Firstly I would have a strong word with the people who did all this work, was it all necessary?(I bet it wasn't) you have paid a lot of money and still have the fault!! All that about their computer is cobbers, most likely they have not got a clue? With ABS faults the first job is to plug in a diagnostic tool to find fault codes and so on and diagnose the fault. So if they could not "connect" how did they know that the sensor was faulty? If it WAS? faulty when they finished the job the fault code should have been cleared and the ECU reset to clear the memory. They have messed up on this job,all they were interested in was fitting parts,NOT correcting your fault.Go back, bang tables, ask to see the displaced parts then ask for a refund. It makes me mad as these sort of outfits give garages a bad name. Find yourself a good independent Peugeot/Citroen Specialist and start again.I expect he may give you more information and "ammunition" for your complaint with the above??

evening, firstly sorry ive posted in wrong section, my first post and an honest mistake. the break pads and discs did need changing i knew this when the car went in and i was shown them before they were replaced, the bearing was changed on my say so as i myself thought i could hear a humming sound , now gone with new bearing. UPDATE - i have been to a well known independent peugeot specialist today, they ran there computer through it and the memory was empty, they could not understand why? they said the former garage could of wiped it, anyway they took it for a test drive with the computer plugged in and guess what!! NO ABS LIGHT, they have said that all the sensors are working o.k and it carnt be the pump as the fuse not gone and is working they did not just fob me off, they did not charge me for anything they did today (peugeot ) wanted nearly £90 just for looking at it with the computer!! they have told me to drive it for a few days let the light come back on and they will take another look at the memory with the computer free of charge. on the way home the light came on along with the rumbling nearside break, i phoned them straight back and booked it in for monday. to be honest im getting really annoyed with the issue!!
