After changing the battery I forgot to reactivate the radio by entering the code. My wife drove the car and pressed all the buttons. Now the radio is permanently locked out, and our local Peugeot garage say they can't unlock it "as it's such an old car"! Normally the deactivated radio shows a blank screen, and comes to life when the correct code is entered. Now the screen shows a radio frequency and does not respond to any buttons ... ie: it is locked out. Anyone know how to get such an "old"! radio unlocked?

As far as I remember you have 3 goes and then it locks you out. But I think thats only for a short period of time? If it locked you out yesterday and you turn the car off and go back to it today and power it up agin it should ask you for the code again? Thats how I remember it anyway.

Well there are quite a lot of locked out clarion radios out there, judging by the amount of info on various forums. What worked was to leave the locked-out radio, and ignition, switched on for a couple of hours. Then press and hold the band button for 3 secs, the numbers disappeared and 'code' reappeared. I was then able to enter the correct code and the radio sprang back to life. Have marked the reactivation code on one of the sun shields, and written it into every bit of documentation.
