I know it was mentioned it was too late to organise a club presence at the Royal Bath & West Showground for the Bristol Classic Car Show, maybe just as well ! I thought I would attend the show going home via some friends.
The 504 was washed and polished looking smart, until the showground. The public were forced to park in wet muddy fields, with pot holed tracks, loose rubble and fallen over gates. It was a mud bath, then you were forced to queue with at least 300 other people for a £7 ticket. It was a complete fiasco for a classic car owner, the poor 504 looked like its just done a rally stage! All this at mid-day Sunday, even though it had been open 2hrs.
Shows it a popular event, but the organisers must be out for the cash with no considerations for the spectating classic owners. I cant understand why you have to queue at a window to buy a ticket, then queue again to get in! So I kept my seven pounds and had a jet wash and a pint instead!
I hope the other events on the calender this year will have a little respect for the visitors cars!
Mat.

Heh. You'd have hated the French Car show then. Massive queses to get in. However, once in it was well worth it. There will be a proper CPUK presence at FCAS this year (I hope!). Last year it was just me and the ZS and Stuart Bird with his 504 Ti, AND his ZS, that's dedication!

Have been discussing the FCS with the guys on Andyspares french discussion forum, as it would appear a good meeting point as well. I have that weekend off and planned to attend, although something tells me my 504D will be the slowest thing on 4 wheels!
Does it mean I'll have to buy a baseball cap, and replace the 8 track machine with an MP3?

You and Stuart can perambulate round the race track at a stately speed, pipes in your mouths waving all the young hooligans past with serene aplomb! That would make a great video. ;D

I don't know his looks rather more smart than mine, she's a very solid old girl but cosmetics arn't exactly stunning. Then again is you run over a chav you'd never know the ride is so smooth! I can say though she is modified! Although petrol to diesel isn't the flavour for 'youf's.
