Been watching the 309 GTi ad on the CPUK web site video gallery.
I remember when the 309 GTi was launched how the styling was generally regarded as being bland compared to th eother GTi's on the market. Looking at teh line up in tha ad I think that the styling of the 309 has held up pretty well and the car looks far better now than any of the other cars, which look far more dated.

Sorry, don't agree, the 309 gti is a good looking car, but not as good looking as the 205 gti.

True, the 205 Gti is a better looker, but compared to the very tired looking Escort and the others the 309 looks much smarter now, while at teh time the press and public regarded the Escort as the looker and the 309 as the bland car.

There's always worse: think of the Citroen BX Sport or the Visa GTi... ;D

...but I LIKE the BX Gti especially the 16v and I've owned two Visa Gti's, one with a 1.9 conversion in it. That used to embarrass 205 GTi owners I can tell you, plus proper rear suspension meant it handled even better than the 205. Shame it was a) ugly as a pig, b) the single most unreliable car I have ever owned and, c) built to it's own unique standards of quality.

The 309 looks the way it does and hold 09 as its not a Peugeot. Its the Talbot Arazona, built to replace the Horizon, only last moment bungling changed the badge, it chugged along with the prehistoric Talbot engines for years.
