Hi Nutter, your XE is quite a rare car now, there are 927 XE models left, compared to over 8000 GLD ones!! Look after it, and stick to 3000 miles oil changes on that Simca based engine with good quality oil. Nows the time whilst your cleaning it up to get it fully jet washed underneath and check for rust, then give it a good coating of waxoyl to keep it in good condition. The 309 was designed by Talbot on the basis of the Horizon so it is a British car, not French !

hey emz, look like you got a good buy there looks well looked after no rust!!! get your gti alloys,lower it 40mm and slot a nice 1.9 16v in were that silly little engine used to be. It will beat my turbo 205 then for sure(all in good time of course)!!

Hmm, not too soon! The insurance would cost a bomb if I did all that lol I've found myself some GTi alloys and a kit for it which a very kind man has said I can have for free! Looking for new struts at the moment, the cheapest I have found is around £200, so not too bad. Torsion beams I can lower myself, so that wont cost me much more to do...40mm might be a bit too much, was thinking more along the lines of 35mm, that way there's less chance of rubbing. The car will be well looked after for sure, it's my baby
