I am about to change my brake pads all round for my MOT, I recall reading in my trusty Haynes that the Peugeot 405 system should only be worked on by 'a professional dealership' , is this true ? also has anyone got any advice on bleeding this type of system, the car is an estate turbo diesel L reg with ABS.
Cheers ........

Hi marc here, I have a 405, it depends on the type of ABS system that has been fitted, bendix made two types "intergal" or "addintional" the later sits piggy back on standard braking system, and can be worked on follow the instuctions in the trusty Haynes, the "Intergal" however has high internal line presures thus this should be left to a garage. I think that "addintional" systems where fitted to car from 1993 onwards!

Thanks Marc, I have decided that as I am having some welding work done (requiring removeal of rear axle) I am going to let the garage handle the brake bleeding at the same time, that high pressure brake fluid can be a bit risky !
