2 single choke webers, not of great design, or two single choke solexes which need to take a trip to the nearest bin. 80 bhp
You can get a manifold that allows fixing a single dcoe to the standard head - that's good for road use, or twin 40's if you don't care about the petrol and have tuned all the rest up to take advantage. French 205 rallye had the 2xdcoe's, 103 bhp from 1360cc. It is (or was) the most powerful production 1.3 engine ever produced.

jeez, not another 205! What's happening to the Gti?
Do the pic thing, quick.
Quick guide to 205 rallye owning:
Wheels - alloys no! They don't help the handling Lowering - no it doen't help the handling.
V. misunderstood car. Most conventional tuning does more harm than good! Keep it original or use only Peugeot sport parts.

the rallye is for me (i'm too young to drive the GTi) and the 306 is going.... (tis too slow and boring for me, at least the 104 is cool while it's being slow ) we are posting a load of pics on the website this weekend of the fleet (past and present!) ok. the rallye - ebay car... v. cheap! AMAZING!!! sadly not quite standard, has a chrome chav appendge and TSW alloy hell but i have a set of steels on the 306 which (i think) thould be the right size...rather than the stilts its on, and i'm getting a sport exaust... its got the solex enough said about that - i'm looking around for an upgrade but i.e. webbers but... it runs and handles like a new car!! - someone spent a fortune on the car recently, you wouldn't even know it was a carb.... oh and it's just had a new paint job and seats any recommendations for tyres? on oher 205 news the CJ and GTi will be restored (so tref says...) immediately after the 104 (which should be done in the next couple of months!- so he says...) pugtastic fun!

from a quick look under the bonnet, there's a very ordinary looking TU/Solex airfilter, which would put me more in mind of the non-synchronized twin as found on XS's and the like. The engine runs very sweetly and evenly, and pulls as strongly as you would expect from a 1360. Economy seems to be around about the 38ish mark on the (mainly motorway) tank it's burned so far. Sadly, it provides a yardstick for poor CJ... :*( Should the engine be the alloy block or the steel? The exhaust (i think this one counts as an Xorst) seems to be a full system not just the usual magic +50bhp back box - the rear silencer is sleeved on like an early GTi not an olive like a normal TU pipe. More research called for before indulging 205tastic's desire to chuck this away! I'm turning down other offers this weekend to finally get into the garage and start stripping the 104. I think the seats are staying - we're fairly sure they're Mi16 sourced half leathers, again not quite sure what should be in there, but these are quite good. Small patch to fix, but Bolsters! Shock! The GTi's doing daily drive honours around Sunny West Yorkshire at the mo. ;D On the current plan it's coming off the road for summer and some fettling when CJ comes back out to play Think we have some replacement decals on the was for the Rallye - think 205tastic wants to wait for them before pics...

hi does can anyone tell me which carbs the 1.4 english 205 rallye runs off (is it twin webbers???) - 1992 year.... cheers! Interesting topic, I've owned a Rallye Sport (93K) from new, it's been serviced every six months (initially by Peugeot) and by local garage, it's got 156,000 miles on the clock (original by me), three clutches, rebuilt cyclinders, it's standard never been modified, apart from replacement Original Raylle Seats (the old ones just wore away...), but the current ones, are worn, and will be replaced by a half-leather set out of a GTi (okay I've fitted light in boot (standard electrics, and dimmer for dials speedo etc on standard electrics, and a cigaratte lighter) BUT........I've got a knackered carb, the throttle linkage is badly worn, in these cold mornings, it really is a pregnant dog to keep under control, set the choke, start off, and it will drift from 700rpm to 2500rpm, 1000rpm etc Anyone know a good carb specialist in the North East, nr York? Andrew PS I know nothing about how to replace a carb, so need someone that can do the work, replace, tune etc
