Hi Any one know how to stop waer ingress into boot area on 405 it seem to be a common problem but I cant find out how its getting in

Try removing everything from the boot and dusting it with talkum powder. You should then be able to see the trail of water. Or if you have someone small you can shut them in ther with a tourch and then put the hose pipe on the car.

Would you really do that to your friends? At least give them some sandwiches and a mobile phone. :-)

Rear lamps are the best bet,the covers either leak into the lamp body and then into the car or the rear housing seal leaks.Take the lot off and refit it with RTV or similar sealer.Make sure the lid seal is ok and lid is adjusted tight.
