I am from UK and have retired to France with my old Peugeot and find it difficult to get parts for this model, believe it or not. It is a French car after all. It needs a lot of little changes one of them being a change of the air filter. Could somebody please let me know how to do this. The model is 505 GTi 1989 estate.
Cheers jaya

Parts can be difficult to find for any car whose production has stopped for over 15 years, even in the manufacturer's home country. Car manufacturers dont make parts for ever and they're not all like Mercedes who have a keen interest in their old models and re-manufacture parts. Peugeot have only started doing this for certains parts of certain models but this remains limited and usually through demands from clubs that have the official support of Peugeot (ex: "Amicale 504" for a model close to my heart).
This being said, you shouldn't have any problems finding a "filtre à air" for your 505. Try to go to "Feu Vert", "Norauto" or the likes of them. They may not have it in stock but will be able to get it for you. Where do you live in France?
I don't know what it looks like on the 505 GTi, but changing the air filter is one of the simplest thing to do on a car. It is usually situated in a black casing on top of the engine (frying pan shape or short cylinder shape). You simply open it, remove the old air filter and put the new one in...

Hi, Many thanks for the reply, I will get one from either Norauto or Feu Vert. I know both these places well. I did in fact looked to see how the filter was placed and thought it was too easy! But there you go, it is easy Simply the reverse of taking out. Again thanks for your help jaya
