hi all,
Does anyone have any general information on what I should expect from a K Reg 309 Zest?
I recently got rid of my Astra MK4 (Finance company ripping me off), and my sister has kindly offered me a 309 she was asked to sell.
I'm not expecting anything but some general information such as BHP (1.4, not much I know), MPG, common faults etc.
My sister lives over 250 miles away and I haven't had a look at it yet.
If I can go prepared, I might be able to check whether it's safe to drive home or not.
Any information would be great.
Regards
Gav

Hi Gav, Watch out for water leaks into the boot and soggy rear passenger seat. The rear light seals are not good. There could be bad rust as a result. Also, park the car on level ground and view from the rear. Are the rear wheels square to the ground? Wonky wheels indicate worn suspension. This is expensive and may not be worth repairing. If it has a full MOT and is cheap (below £100) this could be a good runabout. 1.4 engine is in lower tax band. Check radiator is in good condition and electrical stuff works properly. Knocking from worn drive shafts is a potential expensive problem. Drive in circles on full lock and listen. Regards, Donaldiesel
