hi, newbie with a squeak problem

hi there I've recently bought an Lreg 405 sti estate, for the grand sum of £150. I needed a temporary vehicle as I own a Hilux Surf, but the head gasket has gone. It's a good motor with tax and MOT until January 2008. While driving I've noticed when turning left it makes a squeaking noise. It will sometimes do it while stationary. Other than this issue I'm not too worried about the other general knocks and noises it makes.

is it the steering belt? worth a look as they used to do this
