hello, does anyone know how to tell whether girling or bendix drums are fitted before i take it apart (it would obviously be clear then!) i know on a 205 the hole the back of the wheel cylinder sits in is a different shape (bendix is round) - i've found this the hard way on 205's! if anyone can shed some light that would be great cos i can't wait until the car's in bits to find out this time! ;D

I always say Girling cylinders have oval holes in the back plate and bendix have round holes

Just to add confusion, last time I bought Girling cylinders (oval) from GSF, they had 'Bendix' on the casting! However, if you look under the car with a torch you should be able to see if you have oval or round cylinder backs. To be certain you could buy both types and negotiate a deal where you can return the ones you dont need. Regards, Donaldiesel
