keeping my gentry auto now its having the 1.9 gti engine but before i lay out any money for an engine i want to know the car is solid can you lot tell me where i should be looking for rust/rot checked the rear beam thats fine dont know where else the 205's rot never owned 1 before this lil beauty ;D cheers

Hello Antz,
Some places to check on the 205 for rust are the rear boot lid, The boot lid floor, the metalwork below the backseats when you tip them up, and just below the windscreen near where the bonnet hinges connect.
I hope this helps and Im sure some others will be along shortly to add any areas I have missed.

Hi,
I've had a couple of 205s that have rotted behind the headlights on the inner wing and front panel. Not easy to see, but worth a poke around from the engine bay and up under the wing. The only other place I've had problems has been at the back end of the sill/step, where the B-post meets (this can be an MOT fail, I've found, as it's close to the seat belt mounting)
