One of my instrument panel/dashboard light bulbs is out on my 205 sceptre. Its the left one, so I can still see my speed in the dark and my fuel, but not that fantastic analogue clock!! I want to see that clock in the dark again!! Is it quite easy to change the bulb? Any advise or tips out there?

changing the bulb is an absoloute doddle once you have the clock pod out of the dash. that's not too hard to do but you do need some patience, and ideally a small torx driver (t15 or t20 i think) for the screw on the far right of the dash. you don't *need* to take the wheel off but it helps. off the top of my head i forget what the bulbs are, ut you could try looking here www.consumabulbs.com/files/nproduct.php?mk=45&md=639www.consumabulbs.com/files/bdet.php?id=90once you have the panel out, the bulb holders just twist out (1/4 turn left and pull) the heinz guide is actually pretty accurate on this job i think (quite rare on 205's) but if you want some pics i'm sure i can oblige if you give me a few days to sort them. i've probably already got them. as a guide if you haven't tried this before i'd give yourself at least a clear half day. it's really not hard, and shouldn't take anything like that long, but if you haven't tried dismantling interiors before it's much better to take it slow and easy until you know where all the demon screws are hidden. fascia plastics break notoriously easily and pug plastic is notoriously fragile. some of the colours are really quite rare now if you do need to replace anytihng. ph2 grey seems to be by far the most commonly available... my fantastic analogue clock in my first 205 (a trio sx) became known as the 'tea-time clock' cos it was always between 530 and 630...

That reminds me, I really should get round to sorting mine out. Driving in the dark without being able to see the speedo is starting to get very anoying.
I love the analogue clocks, although the one in my current 205 is still working at the moment

It's been a while since I posted this but better a late reply than never! I managed to change the bulb a month ago or so. It is a bit of a fiddly job especially with the steering wheel still in place. Main problem is that when you take the top plastic bit of the instrument panel it gets caught behind the stalks for the clock and day-trip reset. But with a bit of wrangling I managed to get it off. O yeah, and that torx screw on the right side is a pain as well, got it out but never managed to get it screwed in again! Thanks to 205tref and 205grd for your replies.

I ought to update too, I finally got it all sorted after taking the dash apart again I discovered that I hadn't reconnected the rehostat for the dash lights and once connected again the lights all came on. I now have the hasssle of a slightly intermittant RH side bulb on my dash. Ah the joys of the french electrics on a 205 phase 1.75
The torx screw on the RH side of the dash would explain why my phillips screwdriver has not managed to successfully do up that screw again, next time I fancy being frustrated by the dash I supposed that I shall have to have a go.
