Hi all,
I am realising that I will need to change various components on the suspension of my 205 as the ride and handling are not as good as they should be.
Does anyone have any helpful hints and tips beyond the start that I get from the joke book.
Also does anyone know if the different parts are the same on the diesel as any of the other 205 models that will help me while am searching out the right bits and pieces.
Cheers
Doug

The front end is very simple and easy for the DIY, track control arm bushes and ball joints need checking, its more easy to change the whole arm and cheaper in the long run.The shocks and top mounts are very simple to remove and check. All parts are easy to get just quote the reg` no to GSF or EURO car parts and you will get original parts at factor prices. The rear is the big problem and another story, radius arm bearings seize up and fall to bits.Check to see if a wheel is "in at the top" if the suspension clicks and squeaks your in trouble.I have had many with arms seized solid and the only "suspension" was the tyre!Overhaul of the rear axle is a job for an expert and very expensive.

Thanks for the advice, I am pretty sure that the back is fine from a seizing up point of view as it has a reasonable amount of travel when I lean on the back of the car or fill it with stuff. The pointers regarding the front suspension are very helpful and will give me some pointers when I get round to looking at it.
