I am having problems with my October 2001 2 litre hdi. Operating the key fob to lock the car produces lots of clonking from the door locks and flashing indicators - unfortunately the doors don't actually lock. Both car battery and key fob battery appear healthy so I am mystifed. Anyone got any ideas?? It's a real pain not being able to leave anything in the car.

Hi, I had this happen to me (607) and I'm embarrassed to admit it was down to one of the back doors not being shut properly! Try running round the car slamming all the doors (and the boot while you're at it). It might work, and even if it doesn't, it will relieve the frustration for a minute or two . Try the petrol flap as well if it's linked to the central locking (but be gentle).

Hi, I'm having the same problem with my 406HDi. The problem is intermittent. Believe me I've tried slamming the doors and it doesn't work! Sometimes the drivers door lock feels loose and sometimes i can't even lock the doors manually. Other times operating the passenger door manually causes all the doors to reset in the unlocked position and then the locking works fine ...for a while. If anyone can shed some further light I'd be grateful
